Dryden GM Ice Dogs graduate Kent Walchuk is heading south of the border to pursue his hockey career.

The native of Saskatoon has committed to play collegiate hockey with Minot State University in North Dakota.

Walchuk wrapped up the SIJHL season with 16-goals and 17-assists in 49-regular season games.

That was a 25-point improvement from 2014-2015.

He also added eight points in twelve playoff games.

Walchuk will be joining a MSU Beavers team that went 32-2-2-1 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
