Police weren’t just catching bad guys on Saturday.
Officers were helping kids catch fish at the annual Bob Izumi’s Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Derby.
Some 70-plus youth between the ages of 7-12 came down to the Government Dock in Dryden.
Sergeant Dale Engstrom of the Dryden Police Service says each child went home with a new fishing rod, tackle, a hat and other prizes.
The event was part of the Walleye Master weekend.
The Tournament was sponsored by M&M’s, Canadian Tire, Black Legend Boarding Kennels.
