Parents will get the opportunity to learn more about kindergarten programs being offered at area schools this week.
Open House and Parent Information Nights are taking place.
The session at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Dryden is tonight (Tuesday) starting at 6:00pm.
Tiffany Goulet says childcare will be provided on-site and she says they will be giving parents information about their school and kindergarten program as well as conduct school tours.
The School also offers transitional evenings and Dolly Evans says this year they are holding five sessions.
Evans says “We just like to welcome the Kindergarten children into the school, to ease their transition, to help them become more comfortable and familiar with their environment and their educators and their peers the following year.”
She notes “Whether its their surroundings, the Gym, the Library, their peers, their teachers. We are just going off of all of the work we’ve done around self-regulation. It’s really proven to help the children get to know their environment and make them more comfortable to start the next year.”
