Work on the Dryden King Street underpass is expected to begin next week.
The underpass will be closed for roughly 4 to 6 weeks due to construction.
Manager of Public Works Blake Poole outlines the work that is being carried out.
Work includes new asphalt, curbs, a concrete barrier, sidewalk improvements as well as new handrails.
Council approved a roughly $845,000 contract to fix the underpass at a special meeting Wednesday.
The province is footing 80% of the bill.
Poole says they don’t foresee any extra costs and notes the current cost of the project is under budget by over $12,000.
He notes signage will be posted around town about the closure of the underpass.
