The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it was time for the sex education curriculum to be updated.
A new health and physical education curriculum was introduced last week by the Ministry of Education.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says this is the first real update in more than 15 years.
Monteith says feedback from parents he’s talked to has actually been fairly positive, given some of the controversy the new curriculum has generated.
