Local school board’s will have a bit more money to work with in the next school year.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has been promised about four percent more funding from the Ministry of Education.
Superintendant of Business Dean Carrie says they will still likely fall short in the amount they require for special education since their increase in that section is only one percent.
Carrie says the increase for special education will not be able to cover inflationary costs on its own.
He also says the goal is to have the budget ready in time for their June board meeting.
