Kyle Pouncy Commits To Northland College

Dryden GM Ice Dogs defenceman Kyle Pouncy has committed to attend Northland College next season.

Based in Ashland, Wisconsin, the Lumberjacks compete out of the 11-school Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.

Pouncy led all Dryden defenceman in offensive production last season amassing 13-goals and 29-assists in 56-games.

The 20-year-old from Kamloops, B.C. didn’t miss a single game.

Pouncy was a CCM Hockey first team all-star on defence and was a finalist for the SIJHL’s Most Valuable Player award.

He was also named the league’s RBC scholastic player of the year.

Former Ice Dogs Mike Lennon is an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Northland and calls Pouncy the full package.

Lennon says Pouncy has good vision, a great first pass and can jump in the rush.

He adds aside from his abilities on the ice, he’s one of their top recruits academically.
