Kenora’s Mike Richards is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Kings.
The Kings put Richards on unconditional waivers Sunday making him a free-agent.
The decision to cut Richards loose will cost the Kings dearly leaving them on the hook for $14.5-million over the next 10 years to buy out the remaining portion of his contract.
Richards won two Stanley Cups with L.A., but had a career-low in goals and points last season that saw him demoted to the King’s AHL farm team for part of the year.
