L-U Professor Takes A Look At 2016

Lakehead University Political Science professor Laure Paquette is out with her predictions for 2016.

She believes the New Year will be a wake-up year for Prime Minister Trudeau.

Paquette says Trudeau made a number of election promises but predicts he won’t be able to keep them all.

She adds there won’t be the pension reform from the feds that the Ontario government is looking for.

In our province, Paquette notes rising electricity prices will be the main story of 2016.

She believes the issue will dominate discussions at Queen’s Park, given the fact no one can figure out their monthly hydro bill.

Paquette says energy prices are expected to go up even more when the province introduces a cap and trade system.
