Lac Seul First Nation Chief Clifford Bull is looking to make history.
Bull is the first candidate to ever be nominated in the new provincial riding of Kiiwetinoong.
The long time Indigenous leader was confirmed as the Progressive Conservative candidate at a nomination meeting in Sioux Lookout Thursday night.
Bull has been the Chief of Lac Seul since 2006 and Interim PC Leader Vic Fedeli says he is a champion for not only his community, but for all First Nations communities.
Fedeli says his dedication and effectiveness is reflected in the strong working relationship he has forged between local municipalities.
Bull is a recognized facilitator and architect of successful business ventures and partnerships and was influential in the negotiations and signing of the first enhanced Sustainable Forest License in the province on the Lac Seul Forest.
The Liberals and NDP haven’t announced a candidate in the riding that starts in Sioux Lookout and heads north.
