It’s been 72 years since American aviator Amelia Earhart
disappeared, a mystery that might finally be solved next year with the help of two Thunder Bay labs.
American Ric Gillespie and his team believe she was left stranded and died on the island of Nikumaroro after her plane crashed as she tried to fly around the world in 1937.
Gillespie and his team will visit the island next May on a D-N-A expedition, hoping the Thunder Bay labs will prove it to be a match with a great-niece of the aviator.
