Faculty from Lakehead University are being asked to play host to international students for the holidays.
Spokesperson Sara Melvin says many don’t travel home and celebrate with host families.
“A lot of hosts involve them in the whole day of activities so they took them ice skating because that’s a tradition they had with their family.”
Melvin says the students love it and look forward to it since they get to learn our culture and share their culture with us.
So far the school only accepts staff members as host families for the December 24th, 25th and 26th traditions.
