A Fort Frances Lakers goaltender is the first SIJHL ‘Play It Again Sports’ Player of the Week.
Newcomer Alex Bugeja is the recipient of the weekly award.
The 18-year-old from B.C. backstopped the Lakers to a home-and-home sweep of Thief River Falls to open the season.
He finished with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage.
Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward and Ear Falls product Dylan Winsor and Shaye Sommerfeld of Red Lake also received consideration.
