The Fort Frances Lakers scored five times on the powerplay en route to an 8-5 win over the Thunder Bay North Stars Thursday night.
The Lakers only needed 22-shots on Jordan Elliot to secure the victory.
Ian Jarvis and Dylan Kooner both recorded a pair of goals.
The second place North Stars remain two points up on English River.
