The Fort Frances Lakers exploded for three goals in the second period en route to a 4-3 win over the Wisconsin Wilderness last night in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
Jameson Shortreed was the difference maker as he stopped 39-shots for the Lakers.
Fort Frances is now three points up on the Dryden Ice Dogs for third in the standings.
The loss was the first for the Wilderness on home ice.
