The season has basically come to an end for the Fort Frances Lakers.
The SIJHL champions were officially bounced from the Dudley Hewitt Cup yesterday with a 6-5 loss to the Soo Thunderbirds and a 5-1 Trenton win over Kirkland Lake.
Christian Ripley, AJ Rupert, Nolan Ross, Nick Minerva and Dylan Kooner scored for the Lakers.
Pierce Dushenko struggled for the second straight game, allowing four goals on 22-shots.
Brandon Bodnar suffered the loss.
Fort Frances ends the tournament against the Golden Hawks this afternoon.
Trenton is already guaranteed a spot in the Championship final.
