Construction of the new Hospital in Sioux Lookout has prompted the
Kenora District Services Board to look ahead.
Work on the Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre is expected to commence this Fall
and the KDSB is now looking at construction of a new ambulance base attached to the
facility.
CAO Sten Lif says they also need the Province to help cover the costs
of land ambulance service in Sioux Lookout.
Lif says they average 2,000 calls a year, which has forced the
KDSB to put a second crew on at a cost of $390,000.
