Late Surge Pushes Lakers Past Ice Dogs

Byron Katapaytuk entered Thursday night’s game against the Dryden Ice Dogs without a goal.
The veteran forward busted out of his funk with a 4-goal effort to lead the Fort Frances Lakers to a 6-2 win at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
Dryden trailed the Lakers by 1-goal with 10-minutes left in the third, before the Lakers offense came to life.
Bryce Maggrah and Jesse Linner scored for the Ice Dogs.
Kim Wildhaber suffered the loss for Dryden.
The Ice Dogs take on the OPP in an exhibition charity game Saturday night in Vermilion Bay.
Game time is 6 o’clock at the Woodlands Arena.
All proceeds go to the Vermilion Bay Minor Hockey Association.
