Launch Of CT Scan Unit Fundraising Campaign Off To A $350,000+ Start!

CKDR and the Dryden Regional Health Centre put out the call for donations and the community responded in a big way.

More than $350,000 was raised in four hours Monday morning in support of a new CT Scan Unit at the hospital.

Fundraising and Recruitment Coordinator Chuck Schmitt says that number will climb as they are now crunching the numbers. Schmitt is expected to join the CKDR Morning Show Tuesday for an official announcement and breakdown.

Schmitt believes they may be close to halfway towards their 1.25-million dollar goal at the end of the month when all is said and done. He notes the response from the community has been overwhelming and he can’t thank the public enough.

Schmitt says it’s been a total team community effort. Campaign Chair Andrew Skene says they surpassed their expectations.

Skene is thanking individuals and businesses from Dryden, Machin, Red Lake, Ignace and all others who made a donation for what is being called an essential piece of equipment.

Keep it locked on CKDR, as we will have reaction and announcements all week long. Here is some reaction:
