Lawsuit In Relation To New Osnaburgh Incident

Two separate suits have been filed in Ontario Superior Court in relation to a 2013 altercation with Provincial Police in Pickle Lake. CBC reports 55-year-old Bonnie Muckuck of New Osnaburgh First Nation is seeking 2-million dollars in damages from Ontario and 2-million from the OPP. The suit, stems from an incident with OPP officers, which left her with a broken shoulder and ribs. Muckuck was found not guilty last June of assaulting police during the incident and was also found not guilty of assault on her partner, a complaint that led to her contact with police. In addition to the damages, Muckuck is seeking a declaration that her charter rights were infringed upon.
