The Sioux Lookout Area Aboriginal Management Board is suing the
Federal Government and the Chiefs of Ontario over childcare funding.
The Board represents 25-remote First Nation communities in the
Northwest.
Officials say without notice, the Government and Chiefs of Ontario cut
their childcare funding from over $538,000 to $300,000.
The Board stresses member communities will suffer from severe
shortages of daycare facilities and spaces.
Only 3 First Nations have daycare centres.
