The federal leader of the New Democratic party says he’d like to see the federal government do more to improve living conditions on remote first nation communities.
Jack Layton is touring the region this week and says housing on many of the aboriginal communities he’s seen has been terrible.

Layton will wrap up his tour of northern Ontario next Friday with a stop in Thunder Bay.
He will be holding a municipal round table discussion with members of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association.
