What’s happening at our area High Schools this week?

Dryden High School

Cooperative Education students will be in the library tomorrow -Tuesday, January 20th – highlighting all the amazing learning and experience they have gained this semester. Employers, parents, students and teachers are invited to come check it out!  Morning cooperative students from 10am until 11:30am.  Afternoon cooperative students from 1 o’clock until 2:30.

The semester 1 music classes at Dryden High School are participating in Arts in Action this Wednesday -January 21st –  at 6pm along side the arts classes! Come to the Gordon Wood Auditorium to hear some great music and tour the library exhibit for some stunning art! Food donations for the Dryden Food Bank will be accepted at the door.

Sioux North High School

Practise Grade 9 Math EQAO assessment will be happening today – Monday, January 19th.

Tuesday, January 20th – Plan for success – complete culminating activities, prepare for exams and ask teachers for any missed assessments.

As of Wednesday, January 21st there will only be 5 days left of Semester 1 classes. 

Coming up at the end of this week – Friday, January 23rd – EQAO Grade 9 Math assessment will happen for students currently taking Grade 9 destreamed Math.  Good luck to all those who are writing!

Red Lake District High School

A reminder for students that picture re-take day is today – Monday, January 19th.  Photo re-takes will happen from 9am until 10 in room 220.

Pelican Falls First Nations High School

The Pelican Falls Timberwolves will be hosting the 2026 Thunder Cup – an all day volleyball tournament at Pelican Falls High School.  The volleyball championship will happen tomorrow – Tuesday, January 20th.  Good luck to all of the teams who are competing in the tournament for the Thunder Cup!  There will be various prizes for winners and participants.  The championship is being organized by Thunder Bay Police Service and Northern Nishnawbe Education Council.

The Timberwolves Court Sports season does not resume until February 2nd when Pelican Falls will host the Ignace Falcons and then on February 5th the Timberwolves will entertain Rainy River.

Ignace School

Silly Sock Day is coming up tomorrow – Tuesday, January 20th.  Wear your favourite goofy socks to school!

On Friday, January 23rd be sure to put on your Ignace Falcon wear as it will be Falcon Shirt Day!

The Ignace Student Athletic Association presents a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Wednesday, January 28th.  It’s a 5 o’clock start at Ignace School.  Teams must register by January 26th.  Visit the school office for more information.
