It has been said that good things come to those who wait.
Those words rang true for many in Dryden Monday when plans were announced for the Learning Center/Auditorium which will soon be under construction on the grounds of the former Albert St School across from DHS.
The $7 million project has been on & off for much of the past 3 years but it all came together last Friday when Indian Affairs Minister & Kenora Rainy River MP Bob Nault announced funding of $1 million in a partnership with the Northern Chiefs.
That will help set up a Water Treatment Plant Operator Program at the new facility.
Other features of the Center include a permanent home for the Dryden Campus of Confederation College & a 500 seat Auditorium which will be used for both cultural & educational purposes.
Construction is to begin in a few weeks & should be complete by the end of 2004.
Learning Center GOES!
