Extreme Cold Warnings have been posted – again – for much of our area.
As of 4 this afternoon, the warnings were out for Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Atikokan and Thunder Bay.
This time, Environment Canada says the cold will be here for a few days!
A period of very cold wind chills is expected with wind chill values near or below minus 40 overnight and Thursday morning, and again Thursday night and Friday morning, and once again Friday night and Saturday morning.
Environment Canada reminds us all to dress warmly, in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Keep dry to stay warmer. Cover up.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
Remember – if it’s too cold for you to be outside, it’s too cold for your pets as well.
