LENNARD MOLINE

Sadly, our father passed away on February 27th, 2011 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre at the age of 89.

Dad was born in Dryden, son of Anna and Peter Moline on February 20th, 1922, the second youngest child of eleven and the last surviving member of his generation in the family.

His parents emigrated from Sweden with their second daughter Marta to Connecticut where Everth was born. The family arrived in Canada and settled in Teulon where Elsie, Bill and Phil were born. They then moved to the Dryden area where they homesteaded at Rice Lake where Violet, Bert, Hjalmar, Len and Vince completed the family.

Dad was predeceased by his wife Kathleen in 1982. He will be remembered with love and missed by two daughters, Lorrie and husband Doug Deans of Dauphin, MB and Jan and husband Carl Hutchison of Dryden. Dad took great pride in the accomplishments of his four grandchildren, Dr. Greg Deans of Vancouver BC, Heather Deans of Dauphin MB, Sandy Hutchison (Courtney) of Lorette MB and Marnie Hutchison (Jay Makela) of Edmonton AB. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Olive Moline of Dryden and brother-in-law Mark Anderson of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews and their families.

During the war years he worked at an aircraft plant in Winnipeg where he met Kathleen. Upon return to Dryden they built their first home on David Avenue and started his career at the Dryden mill retiring in 1986 with 40½ years of service.

In his retirement Dad truly enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, fishing, caring for his lawn, rhubarb and raspberry patch, picking blueberries and shovelling snow.

Our thanks go out to all the health professionals who helped keep Dad in his home where he was the happiest. Thanks also to the hospital staff, especially the nurses who provided such compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lennard’s life will be held in the Moffat Chapel at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dryden Regional Health Center Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated through the Stevens Funeral Homes, P. O. Box 412, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be emailed to sympathycard@shaw.ca subject: Moline
