Sioux Lookout is launching a letter writing campaign tonight (Thursday) to convince the Provincial Government to reconsider its wood allocation decision.
Residents are asked to show their support for the McKenzie Forest Products Mill by attending the Sunset Inn from 6 until 9 o’clock.
Mayor Dennis Leney says hundreds of jobs lie in the balance of local wood rights.
Leney calls the current system flawed and an economic hindrance on Northwestern Ontario.
Leney says all of the letters collected will be delivered to Premier McGuinty and Northern Development Minister Michael Gravelle.
