The Northwest Local Health Integration Network has
announced 1.9 million dollars to increase access to
community health services.
228-thousand will go towards long term or community
based service for patients who no longer need acute
hospital care.
154-thousand will be used to assign Community Care
Access Centre Case managers to hospital emergency
departments.
168-thousand is going towards geriatric emergency
management programs to increase emergency deparment
nursing services for seniors with complex challenges.
The NW LHIN will also be creating more alternatives to
acute care hospital beds, so hospitals can better use
their acute care resources.
