The provincial liberal candidate in Kenora-Rainy River says he’s excited about the future following a meeting with Aboriginal Affairs Minister David Zimmer.
The two met in Toronto to discuss some of the issues facing area first nations.
Anthony Leek outlined some of his concerns including resource development and partnerships.
Leek adds the recent Throne Speech laid out firm commitments to improve economic opportunities, education and skills training for aboriginal communities in the riding.
He notes Zimmer is familiar with some of the issues facing aboriginals, noting he spent time as the Parliamentary Assisstant of Aboriginal Affairs.
