Dryden residents in favour of the installation of lights at the Sandy
Beach Ball Diamonds only have a couple of days to sign a petition.
The petitions will be picked up from City businesses on Monday and
presented to Council on Tuesday.
The ‘Light our Fields’ committee is hoping to partner with the City to
move the project forward.
Officials if the ball diamonds were under lights, the City would double
their usage, allowing the adult leagues to play after the minor leagues on
the same nights.
The Committee adds the facility could also be used to host large
tournaments and outdoor concerts.
Dryden has over 700-ball players, in 3-organized leagues,
and the need for more playing team is high right now.
