Lightning Sparks New Fires In Remote North

Recent lightning strikes across the region has the Ministry of Natural Resources keeping a close eye on the forest fire situation.
Lightning sparked a number of new fires in the far north, most of them burning in remote locations.
The MNR is also looking at possible new starts in the southern portion of the region
There was one new fire reported yesterday in the Kenora district and the MNR is investigating the possibility of a second one in the Lake of the Woods area.
The fire hazard remains low to moderate across the region.
