Lilian Ritchie

In loving memory of Agnes Lilian Ritchie age 92 whose death occurred on Monday September 26, 2005 at the Dryden Regional Hospital after a short illness. Lil and her parents emigrated from England in 1929 and settled in Georgetown Ontario. In 1938 she married Bill Ritchie and they had one daughter. Lil worked for Smith and Stone Limited for over thirty years retiring in 1974. Nine years ago she moved to Dryden so she could be closer to her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and took great delight at being included in their lives. Lil made many friends in Dryden. She was a member of the Go Getters, the UCW and the Rebekah Lodge.

Lil was predeceased by a brother Jack, her parents Agnes and Jim Russell and her husband Bill. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Lynne and Don Dingwall, her grandchildren Jamie and fiancée Orvie Coles of Dryden, Christy of Calgary and Rob of Banff. She also leaves two sisters in law, Mrs. Betty Reeve of Georgetown and Mrs. Rita Christian of Woodstock and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of the life of Lilian Ritchie will be held at First United Church on Thursday October 6, at 2:00 pm. Cremation has already taken place. Internment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, and if friends so desire, donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World, The Scott Mission or a local charity of your choice through the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel” P.O.
