Ontario students in Grades 3 and 6 are making strong gains in reading and writing, but just holding steady in math.
Nearly three-quarters of Grade 6 students who took standardized literacy tests this year passed.
That’s up 10% points over the last 5-years.
In Grade 3, 73% of students now meet writing standards, up 9 points.
But officials say more attention is needed in math, after the percentage remained steady in that subject.
Results from schools in the Keewatin-Patricia District will be released on September 12th.
