7 athletes from Vermilion Bay and Erik Larson of 600 Starfighter in Atikokan have advanced to the National Cadet Biathlon Championship in Valcartier, Quebec.
The group from 906 Machin as well as Larson earned the trip at the Manitoba-Northwestern Ontario Provincial Cadet Biathlon Championship in Falcon Lake on the weekend.
Stephanie Buckley was second in the Junior Female Division, while Larsen was the third ranked male in the Junior Boys Division.
Nathon Mallyon, Josh Thain and Tyler Wood also enjoyed success for the Machin Male team.
Candace Glowa, Heidi Hutchinson and Sarah Smith took home both top male and female unit team categories.
