Local Board Awaits Funding For Paramedics

The Kenora District Services Board wants to know how much money it will be receiving from the Provincial Government to hire more paramedics.
Last week, the Ministry of Health announced it would provide 32-million dollars to hire 500-additional ambulance attendants province wide.
The KDSB had submitted a proposal last year asking for 600-thousand dollars to hire another 16-paramedics.
Chief Administrative Officer Sten Lif says the board is hoping to staff more of its ambulance stations 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
