A lively discussion about the state of the economy and jobs.
Parliamentary Secretary to Finance Shelly Glover met with local business leaders yesterday at the Centre in Dryden.
Glover asked the crowd whether they faced a severe labour shortage and half the crowd indicated they did.
Glover says they need to provide incentives to get people off E-I and into the workforce.
She says the Federal Government has taken strides to help local businesses by implementing a hiring tax credit and a hiring credit for small business.
Glover notes those in attendance also commented on high taxes crippling their business.
She says the government will look into the comments.
Glover notes it’s their responsibility to work with the provincial government to ensure both sides are on the same page to help businesses grow.
