The Conservative candidate for Thunder Bay- Superior North isn’t making any predictions for this weekend.
Reports say Canada’s longest federal election campaign is set to kick off as early as Sunday.
But Richard Harvey says he’s not going to speculate, adding the only date anyone knows for sure is election day. Harvey also wouldn’t speculate just how much an early election will cost Canadians.
Meanwhile, federal candidates in the city say they’re ready to hit the ground running, no matter when the writ is dropped.
In Thunder Bay-Superior North, Liberal candidate Patty Hajdu says she’s been planning for a long campaign since being acclaimed last October, while incumbent Green MP Bruce Hyer says he’s on the road meeting with voters this weekend in Thunder Bay, Scriber, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Nipigon and Longlac.
Thunder Bay-Rainy River Liberal candidate Don Rusnak says he’s ready to hit the hustings, if the Prime Minister so chooses to call an early election, noting his team will be out getting voters familiar with his name and the party platform. And incumbent MP, New Democrat John Rafferty, says it’s business as usual at his office.
