It appears there will be another Municipal Levy increase to suit the needs of the Northwestern Health Unit.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pete Sarsfield says more money is needed to play catch up with the rest of Ontario.
Sarsfield says he understands why Municipalities no longer feel the urge to foot the bill for Public Health.
He suggests the Provincial Government should let Towns and Cities off the hook.
The funding formula for 2005 programs is 55% being picked up by the Government and 45% by the Municipalities.
The Health Unit budget will be presented to the Ministry of Health on November 17th.
