Rumors are swirling that the Provincial Government is set to unveil its
energy plan for the North, however the news may not be good.
According to reports, the McGuinty Liberals will designate a $55
per mega watt hour pricing scheme for the forest sector.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says that’s unacceptable.
Krassilowsky says they’ve spent the past year stressing $45 per
mega watt hour is the only way the forest industry can remain competitive.
Area politicians are expecting an announcement this week at the
Northern Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Thunder Bay.
