Local leaders are being urged to wear pink today.
This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and northwestern Ontario mayors have been challenged by the Canadian Cancer Society to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Sioux Lookout Mayor Doug Lawrance is taking part in the campaign and he’s asking everyone to join in.
A luncheon and freshly baked cookie auction is being held at the Best Western in Sioux Lookout as part of the campaign.
Lawrance says it’s a privilege to have another opportunity to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer, a disease that impacts so many of us.
