Local MPP Challenging Province To Tackle Domestic Violence

As the anniversary approaches of the Montreal Massacre, comes a demand the provincial government take action on domestic violence.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says a coronor’s report on fatalities due to domestic violence offers a number of recommendations, which she says haven’t been implemented.
Campbell is the NDP’s critic for Women’s Issues.
She notes too many government ministry’s are refusing to respond to the recommendations.
Campbell says since the cororor began releasing a yearly report ten years ago, 251 women have died as a result of domestic abuse.
