Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford isn’t taking the high road when it comes to recent controversial decisions.
Rickford says the PC government isn’t actually scrapping the environmental, child care and French language advocates.
Rickford stresses that none of the offices are being dismantled, they are all being moved into the office of the Ombudsman and Auditor General.
He notes they have had and will continue to have independent oversight from the government.
Rickford says the move offers the most efficient and effective way to provide the highest level of service.
Meantime, the Cabinet Minister says he doesn’t agree with a gender identity resolution adopted at a recent PC convention.
The proclamation called gender identity a liberal ideology and unscientific.
It was presented by PC MPP Tanya Granic Allen.
Rickford says policy conventions are a place where conversations are held and obviously a group of people felt strongly about the issue.
However, he stresses the resolution, unequivocally, does not reflect the government’s policy or his personal or political viewpoints.
