Local MPP Not Impressed With Throne Speech

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says the provincial Throne Speech doesn’t do anything to address northern alienation.
Campbell spoke today in the Ontario Legislature, saying the speech really doesn’t have anything specific to help this region.
She says that we are all trapped in a relationship with the Greater Toronto Area, and majority of people in Northwestern Ontario would like autonomy but we don’t have the power to control our own destiny.
Campbell notes if they can’t make changes to the electoral boundaries, then they should be able to make changes to the legislature by creating a Northern committee.
She adds Premier Kathleen Wynne says all the right things in the throne speech but doesn’t give any concrete ideas on how to achieve them.
