Local PC Candidate Outlines His Priorities

The first confirmed candidate for the Ontario PC’s in Kenora-Rainy River says he has three main priorities he wants to focus on as he prepares for a possible nomination for the next provincial election.

30-year-old Douglas Judson says the first deals with youth engagement.

Judson says our region needs to see its younger people involved in politics.

Judson says the government also needs a plan to curb the high rate of youth out-migration in the northwest.

He says he also wants to establish trust with voters, noting they have seen a government that has squandered the public trust over the past two years, stressing people are ready for a fresh start.

Judson says earning trust involves listening to voters and actively following up on their concerns.

He adds another priority is concentrating on regional economic growth.

Judson says the government is dragging its feet on several mining projects across the northwest because of bureaucratic delays and red tape.
