Local Reaction to Kirby Report

The light is at the end of the tunnel according to the Chair of the Dryden Health Unit Board of Directors.
Elva Watts is reacting to the Kirby Report which recommends the Federal Government spend at least $5 billion more on health care.
Watts says its a step in the right direction and provides a good blueprint for smaller hospitals like the ones throughout Northwestern Ontario.
She also likes that it calls for the promotion of self-intervention.
The Senate report recommends more money for hospital expansion, equipment and programs to recruit physicians.
