Local Reaction To New Pope

The leader of St. Joeseph’s Church in Dryden is pleased with the selection of Pope Francis.
Father Alan Campeau says while it was a surprise, he’s certain that the new pontiff will be successful.
Campeau says he’s excited for the church and happy a new pope is in place.
He notes we now have a leader who has been influential in the lives of many across Argentina and he can now bring those skills to the world.
Pope Francis is the first ever from the Americas and is the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium.
Father Campeau notes the church has never had a Pope Francis before.
