A record number of regional runners participated in the Annual Manitoba Marathon yesterday in Winnipeg.
Robert Schaffer of Dryden had the top local result, finishing the 26 mile course in 3:24:00, good for 60th place.
The top female was Danielle Marston of Sioux Lookout who crossed the finish line in 4:36:00.
In the half-marathon, Ron Maylen of Dryden finished only 18 minutes behind the winner.
More than 11,000 people took part in the event.
