Volunteers are being recognized in Dryden and across Northwestern Ontario.
69 people have received awards for their years of service.
Spokesperson Colleen Moran says they are holding 56 ceremonies across Ontario and in the end more than 10,000 volunteers will be recognized.
Moran says it’s important to recognize those who lend a helping hand as they are the backbone of so many organizations.
She adds they have been running the awards program for over 30 years.
One of the volunteers recognized in the region has been consistently volunteering for 40 years.
Two youth were also honoured.
