A former NHL’er is the new bench boss of the Thunder Bay North Stars.
The SIJHL club has named Lonny Bohonos as interim coach.
Bohonos played 70-games for the Vancouver Canucks and 13-games for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He played major Junior Hockey in the Western Hockey League and has extensive playing experience in the American Hockey League and in Europe.
Bohonos has lived in Thunder Bay since 2006 and has previously coached 14 of the current North Stars players during his tenure as a coach in the Thunder Bay Kings organization.
He replaces the SIJHL’s winningest coach Todd Howarth.
