Two of the largest educators in the region are looking at a closer working relationship.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says its been in talks with Confederation College about partnering on some projects.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says they are looking at opportunities in both Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.
Monteith adds that Con College could be a potential partner when they eventually move ahead with the construction of a new high school in Sioux Lookout.
The province has indicated that forming partnerships will improve the likelihood of funding.
Monteith says they’ve talked about leasing classroom space at their schools in Pickle Lake and Ignace, which not only benefits the college, but potentially opens up more course opportunities for high school
students.
